Physical Therapy

Restoring Your Physical Health

If aches and pains are affecting your daily life, a customized physical therapy plan can help your body perform at its best.

Here, our physical therapists are movement specialists, with a clear understanding of the anatomy and kinesiology of human movement and performance.

Physical therapy aims to help re-establish normal functions throughout your body and reduce pain levels. It may be recommended if you experience chronic or post-surgical:

  • Back and neck pain
  • Shoulder pain
  • Knee pain
  • Muscle pain
  • Ankle and foot pain
  • Arthritis

To be eligible for our physical therapy services, you must have a referral from your Blackhawk primary care provider.

What to Expect at Your Appointment

A typical visit consists of one-on-one personalized treatments with a physical therapist, lasting between 45 and 60 minutes. The frequency of your treatments will vary, based on your individual needs and recovery progress.

During your appointments, your physical therapist will locate the area of dysfunction in your body, then use gentle stretching, patient-specific exercises, and “hands-on” techniques to correct the movement disorder. All of this is done with the goal of helping you feel your best. Your physical therapist may also recommend at-home exercises to do between appointments.

If you think you would benefit from physical therapy, please contact your Blackhawk Health Center care provider.
