Encouraging Healthy Lifestyles

Poor nutrition can affect your health in many ways; for example, it can lower your energy levels, cause skin conditions, and negatively affect your mental health. Over time, it can lead to chronic diseases that impact your daily life. Starting a healthy diet can reduce – or even reverse – these effects.

We encourage healthy lifestyles by providing medical nutrition therapy to our patients. This service focuses on preventing and managing chronic diseases, including:

  • Heart disease
  • Hypertension
  • Diabetes
  • Kidney disease
  • Obesity

The diet and lifestyle changes you make for this can also support your muscles, bone strength, immunity, and more.

To be eligible for medical nutrition therapy services, you must have a referral from your Blackhawk primary care provider.

Blackhawk Cooking Demonstrations

Every month, we host cooking demonstrations focused on diabetes management, heart health, and weight loss. Patients must sign up with the dietitian to attend these classes; to do this, call 918-968-9531, extension x3042.
